Our Damine friends spent the day at Windsor. They worked with Mrs. Kersjes' class creating "I Am Thankful" word searches. A Windsor student is teaching one of the Damine teachers how to find the words. Reading Rocks! Read as a Family tonight!Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. It is sponsored by the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White and Illinois Center for the Book.
Researchers using the look-up station and recording the Dewey Decimal numbers of the books they want before heading to the shelves.
What a great article about the Veterans' Breakfast sponsored by the Windsor PTA!
This is a wonderful article about the power of "Reading Aloud" and "Sharing Stories" from Upstart.
Barb gave two presentations to the Windsor students today. The focus for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders was The Camping Trip that Changed America and the writing process. Persistence, details, failure, research skills, and editing were all points that Barb shared through her rejection letters, file folders filled with research, rough drafts, and final copies. Her interactive presentation captured the hearts of our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. The Noisy Paint Box increased our awareness of the five senses and the importance of ART!
We have extended the deadline to order her books. Please download the order form and return it to Mrs. Komarek by Friday, November 7th. |
